Palfinger reachforks have an outer sleeve which is hydraulically extended to increase the overall length of the fork.
Operated by a lever, the forks can be extended outwards until at the required reach, the load is lifted before the forks are retracted back to the original length.
Different fork lengths are available, with the SG454 / S160 forks providing a ideal solution for oneside unloading.
Reachforks suit most applications and are the most the commonly used TMF reach system, ideally suited for loads carried on pallets.
NB In some very specific applications (e.g. special stillages or palletless brick pack handling) the reachfork outer dimensions can be too large, in this instance the Scissor Reach should be considered. Check the reachfork specification sheet or contact us
Hydraulically extending reachforks are commonly used on the Palfinger FLS, FLC and F3 series and can also be combined with a Scissor for double reach.
Reachfork Dimensions
Section size – Commonly the reachfork section is 161mm(D) x 57mm (S)
Length – Variable closed lengths are available with longer closed lengths also offering more extended reach. For example the SG454 is 1600mm long and can extend 1200mm giving an extended total length of 2800mm
